*SPOILER ALERT*
Sidorio and Jez both made it out of the burning inferno that was a ship alive!!! I couldn't believe it but their they were. The fire only killed 3 of the 5 renegade vampirates. However, Jez and Sidorio were separated for awhile.

With the help of Connor (who was back with Captain Wrathe) and Bart, Jez joins the Vampirate ship and Darcy falls in love with him. Captain Wrathe heals old wounds with his brother the other Captain Wrathe. His son Moonshine though is an evil, selfish fourteen year old who ends up costing 2 men their lives. Connor had to save him and made his first kill. He is so upset that he sneaks off in the safety boat to wander around the ocean until he ends up back at the Pirate Academy with Cheng Li.

Mean while the Captain of the Vampirates takes Grace and Lorcan to the Sanctuary to be healed. Can Mosh Zu Kamal restore Lorcan's eye sight? We discover that Grace has some kind of healing power but we don't know what it is exactly yet. Grace begins her training under Mosh Zu Kamal as the Captain of the Vampirates returns to his ship. Lorcan's donor hates Grace and how close she is to Lorcan. She goes back to the ship with the captain. Oliver, Mosh Zu's #1 trainee is jealous of her. Uh Oh!

Back on the Vampirate ship Jez leads a rebellion and kills off several of the donors right after asking Darcy to run away with him. She said yes, her bags are packed, and now she is crying and heartbroken. Just then Sidioro shows up with a prison ship and the renegade Vampirates are off on their own. The name of the ship: The Blood Captain.

The Captain of the good Vampirate ship falls deathly ill. Darcy races him to Sanctuary just in time to save his life but will he recover? Lorcan's eye sight has returned!

Sidorio meets up with Oliver and they hatch a plan. Oliver spikes the berry tea (the alternative to blood) with blood which makes the vampires hungry. It is never good news when they are hungry. Grace almost gets eaten by a friend but Lorcan saves her.

A meeting held by Mosh  Zu gives all those a choice at the Sanctuary stay and live by the rules or go. Sidorio is in the crowd! What?? How did he get there? He offers them another option, life on the prison ship. About 1/3 of the people go.

Mosh Zu calls those closest to the captain to aid him. Lorcan, Grace, and Darcy are needed to help save him and then Connor appears! He helps too. We find out the captain has been a keeper of souls and must release them to be healed. So out pops all of these people.

Who is the last one to appear you ask?? Grace and Connors MOM! Yes.. she is a vampire. Lorcan recognizes her and smiles. What is going on here??

The end of Book 3. See... do you see why I NEED book 4 now! You cannot just leave off with them hugging and crying and smiling with a vampire mommy! Is this why they have special powers? Who is Lorcan to them any how? I thought he had romantic feelings for Grace. How can that be?


My Opinion
This series has mystery, intrigue, suspense, fantasy, and now romance contained inside. The author truly has you spell bound and once again I found myself late at night on Amazon purchasing the next two books. Only 3 more books left in the series... who knows what will happen next!

Great book suggestion!! I love reading books that the kids are reading, as well, so that we can form conversations and relationships in that way!
