I feel like I have been a slacker and not posting this! I was planning on posting this weekend but couldn't wait any more!!
So my currently this month is all about stressing over money. So I figured I would share my story with all of you so you can understand my stress. My husband adopted my son's this past November (you need to know that to understand the rest of my story).
So in mid-January our only car broke. It would cost thousands to fix AND it isn't worth thousands. But that's okay because we just did our taxes and our return will be back shortly so we can buy a new one. We had to paper file due to the adoption. And that is where the problems started.
We rented a vehicle thinking our return would come in per the IRS website. That day came and went. Called the IRS and they said they have 6 weeks to process our return. Okay, call the car rental place ask for a month long rental pray nothing gets turned off while we wait. Six weeks later and nothing. We call, they might be sending us a letter. Call back in 2 weeks.
Call back in 2 weeks, they sent a letter explaining the issue. They won't tell us anything by phone. So finally get the letter, they are missing docs. I know I sent it to them, I have a copy of everything I sent to them but I resend by fax. They can't confirm if they got a fax or not. We watch IRS website, date is changed. Call the car rental place and ask for another month of rental.
We call, they can only tell us they have 25 days to process it. We wait some more. Now remember we sent these off on January 17. We call back 25 days from when we sent the fax. Umm.... nope. Date starts from the time someone at the IRS saw the fax that was a week later.
Yes, call a week later. Got the paperwork. We have 4 weeks to send you the paperwork after it is approved. Umm... when will it get approved? They have 25 days to approve it. Sigh...
So the car has to go back to the rental place on Friday. We can't afford another month. My husband works an hour away and now the IRS is saying May 9th. We don't believe them. So...
I am wanting money, needing money, and oh yea! my super power is to grow money trees. Then I would have no need to worry about if or when the IRS decides to send me a tax return. If I can grow money trees, I promise to outfit all of your classrooms with iPads and smart boards.
So I am late SUPER beyond-fashionably late to this party but I wanted to let my friend Tara (4th Grade Frolics) know that I didn't forget so I am the last one to arrive. I blame it on an insanely long week last week! I love her logo for her linky party made by another friend... Michelle (The 3am Teacher!).
So... my lunch is usually the same thing every day. Its all of my favorites that all the boys (hubby included) at home thinks is gross. It is NOT!
So here is my cute 31 lunch tote monogrammed. It came in handy as it is easily recognizably mine when it fell out of my overstuffed teacher's bag and was found in the hall by the school nurse. It also matches everything of mine which again makes it easy to locate its owner.
Inside - Red tupperware! You knew it was going to match so don't act surprised! There are usually 3 containers. 1) Salad... my favorite. So many varieties so little time. I can never get board of salad!, 2) Cottage Cheese, 3) fresh fruit... so many different kinds to choose from!, and 4) a bottle of water. So I dip my fruit into the cottage cheese. Sometimes it is only one kind sometimes multiple kids.
I do not eat carbs at lunch. They make me tired. I need energy to teach so I avoid these. Sometimes I throw in caramel rice cakes when I am in a hurry but I always pay for it. You can tell I am having a rough day if I am sneaking into my teacher's bag for my secret stash of chocolate.
Praying that it all works out for you Misty! (((hugs)))

Hi Misty:
ReplyDeleteYep, I knew those containers would be red! (Of course!)
It's comforting to MY OCD tendencies that YOU match!
I will say a special "Misty prayer" tonight about your tough times. Money problems seem to make everything in life more complicated. I'm sorry that the situation is causing you so much stress at this time.
