Summer Bucket List

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I thought about sharing with you more about my 3 amazing sons but this is a teaching blog and they sneak into enough posts! So instead, I decided to join a linky party and blog about my plans for this summer!

1 ~ Finish designing my organizational method for lesson planning or find one that has already been made and purchase it. Any one have any good resources on this?

2 ~ Finish my First 2 Week Lesson Plan complete with get to know you activities and classroom procedures for my grad school project. I am also planning on making a procedures binder. This will be left out with my sub tub for when I have a sub and will also be used as a reference for problems in the classroom.

3 ~ Set up my binders for the Common Core, STEM, and my districts curriculum maps. Once in order, I can set up units and start getting things sorted out where they need to go and what order to use them in. I also need to finish my Common core kit for my classroom and organize all those objectives!

4 ~ Finish designing my classroom website: another grad school project.

5 ~ Find a way to organize all that stuff lurking in my bathroom cabinets and closets.

6 ~ Organize all the stuff I have for my future classroom that is lingering around my house and store it somewhere. Totally thinking of doing this and getting it ready for my classroom! Need to create labels. This is perfect for my library. Now what to do for centers??

7 ~ Go through my TpT Teacher Appreciation Items and create some new items of my own.

8 ~ Final exam for teacher certification and finish up my final grad classes. Maintain my 4.0 GPA. Become more involved with Kappa Delta Pi.

9 ~ Finish my portfolio -- Well at least catch it up to date. There is so much I need to add!!

10 ~ Camping, Boating, hiking, swimming, BBQs, and lots of time with my family!

11 ~ Figure out how to set up classroom and classroom schedule. Another grad school project that has to be supported by research. Cafe, Craft, Daily 5, Book Whisperer or a combination? Taylor to the curriculum ordered by the district or use it as a guide but create my own??

12 ~ Get all the weeds out of the yard!

So there you have it! Things on my list. Not sure I will be able to get it all done in 8 weeks but we shall see!

  2. Great List :) What are you going to grad school for? I plan to go for my masters in reading and literacy eventually as soon as I find the right school with the best program that I can do online (minus a practicum or two).
