I instantly fell in love. This is how I teach. This is how I want to teach. This would help my son! I can't wait to share this with his teachers next year!
When writing my long term goals lately, I listed becoming whole-brain teaching certified as a goal not knowing it didn't exist until now...
I will be posting at least once a week about whole-brain teaching. Each Tuesday night their is a webcast with Chris Biffle which helps guide those on the certification path or who just want to learn more.
The best part... it is FREE!!! Free to watch the webcast, join the forum discussions, and become certified. He does ask for a donation for professional development credit and to download the slides for the videos if you would like them.
I updated my logo for these posts... isn't it cute? And no... Erika didn't help me. I did it all by my lonesome. I wanted an easy way for you to recognize what I was up to now.
I truly believe that the whole brain shown in this video will make all the difference for my son and in my classroom. Such a simple little thing but it makes a whole lot of difference. This style of teaching goes well with my idea of building a skeleton and exercising my muscle prior to lesson writing.
I am so excited about this new adventure! I hope you will join me. If you decide to, please leave a comment below. =)

So glad you will be posting on this topic! My school has embraced whole brain teaching this past year. We even have Chris Biffle coming this summer as we are hosting one of his workshops. I can't wait! =)

That is so amazing!! I would love to work at a WBT school and attend a Coach B training! As my youngest would say "sooo jealous!"
DeleteI would love to learn more about whole brain teaching. I enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing.

Good stuff! I do some of this stuff already not knowing it's classified as "whole brain" teaching. Now I can be a little more intentional about this and research whole brain teaching a little more. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video!

I didn't realize it was called whole brain teaching either. I was actually looking for ideas on memory issues when this appeared and was just so perfect! Kinda like your brain book is an interactive notebook only we didn't know. LOL!
DeleteI LOVE whole brain teaching. I cannot wait to read more from you. I have implemented some of the ideas into my classroom, but not all of them because I haven't fully researched everything. I am hoping to make it to the conference at Walsh University in Ohio over the summer. The conference is free and you get two days worth of training. I soo hope I can go.

oh! I so hope you can go too!! I will be anxiously stalking your blog for an update.
DeleteI'm so glad we're on this little journey together!! I, too, use WBT as a mom and was lucky enough that one of my close friends was my daughter's first grade teacher this past year, so she was learning little bit of WBT too. It just makes sense, and you will notice an impact immediately.
ReplyDeleteYour new logo is adorable!
I have heard so many positive things about whole brain teaching! Thanks for taking the time to talk about it & giving us the resources to learn more about it to help us implement it in our classroom!
