Reading Fluency

Teaching students how to read and improving reading ability, I believe, is the most important thing we do as teachers. I think my university would agree as I have to take 3 classes on this very subject! I have learned a lot but there is still so much more to learn!

Fluency is the bridge between decoding and comprehension. It is what brings reading to life. There are so many ways to do this and so many sites that provide additional information. I found an A~MAZ-ING site full of resources and just had to share it with all of you.

This site not only defines what fluency is, it breaks down fluency into key areas and provides activities for those areas. In addition, there are over 50 links to additional websites full of more great resources.
