It Happened to Them!

A few classes back, we were discussing the difference a teacher can make IF they choose to do so.

Some teachers choose to make a difference and strive to be their very best each and every day. There are days they stumble but they always bounce back. I think of my bloggy teacher friends in this light.

There are, sadly, other teachers who dread walking into a classroom everyday.To make matters worse, they don't care about changing the situation. They believe it is what it is and there is no way to change it.

Each of share about our day, we vent about our problems. This story could have easily been about any one of us; how often have we sat around complaining to one another about the horrible things that have occurred to us. Rarely do we consider how the situation impacted the others involved; how it looks from their frame of reference. This is a must read story for every teacher:

It happened to them.

What kind of teacher we choose to be and how we choose to react makes a difference in our lives and the lives of our students. I pray as I begin my student teaching, that I remember to be the kind of teacher who makes a difference on a daily basis.
