There are literally HUNDREDS of strategies to help students improve their comprehension. Primarily, I use the Daily 5 and CAFE books to help me teach strategies for various components to my students. But like all of you, I am always searching for more!
This is a great link with information on a few different types of strategies as well as links to lesson plans on how to use these in the classroom. I am hoping to share with you some of my favorite strategies and lesson plans in the future.
What is your favorite strategy to improve reading comprehension? What are your favorite lessons for teaching these concepts?
I am currently loving this lesson plan on questioning from the Teeny Tiny Teacher (Kristin). This would work so well on so many different levels for my students. It would help them build their English vocabulary, oral conversation skills, and even grammatical terms knowledge. Oh I can run in so many directions with this idea and game.
I am looking for other great ideas and can't wait to see what you have to share.
That game sounds great!
